CNN Central News and Network – ITDC India Express / ITDC News Bhopal: The Department of Biotechnology at Barkatullah University organized a comprehensive workshop under the guidance of PM Usha. The workshop provided detailed insights into both theoretical and practical aspects of biotechnology, with a special focus on biology and mycology, along with the chemical and molecular characteristics of microorganisms.
Participants included graduate and postgraduate students from multiple institutions: PM Excellence Hamidia College, Sam Girls College, Sant Hirdaram College, Rajiv Gandhi College, Satya Sai College, Higher Education Excellence Institute, and Jagran Lakecity University. Eight subject-matter experts delivered detailed presentations during the workshop.

Prashant Sharma (Ambikapur, Chhattisgarh) – Mushroom production, preservation, and related government projects
Akhilesh Pandey (Former Vice-Chancellor, Ujjain University) – Indian knowledge traditions
Ram Kumar Nema (Scientist, ICMR, Bhopal) – Types, uses, and applications of PCR
Sanjay Sahay (Nutan Girls College), Amita Gupta (Mansarovar Dental College, Bhopal), Saba Hussain (Peoples University, Bhopal) – specialized presentations in their respective fields
During practical sessions, participants conducted experiments on sample separation, purification, identification, and determination of biochemical and morphological characteristics. Certificates were distributed at the closing ceremony in the presence of Vice-Chancellor S.K. Jain, Vivek Sharma, Ragini Gothalwal, and Prof. Vipin Vyas.
