CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Barkatullah University’s Education Departments of Biotechnology and Pharmacy organized a Standard Writing Competition under the joint auspices of the Indian Bureau of Standards in the respective departments. The topic given was “Packaged Drinking Water.” This topic signifies relevance for both departments and emphasizes the importance of the subject and the utility of standard points for the general public.
Subsequently, the program’s outline and utility were highlighted by the department head, with Mr. Avinash Karochia, RTS, serving as the chief guest. He shed light on the activities undertaken by the Indian Bureau of Standards, including information about mobile apps and the services provided through them, such as standardization of products, certification activities, and surveillance of related incidents, ensuring harmonious development and reliability.
Under the competition, 20 students from the Pharmacy Department and 16 students from the Biotechnology Department participated. Following the competition, the announcement of first, second, third, and consolation positions of students was made by the mentors of the Standard Club, Dr. Pallavi Kaushik and Dr. Rakhna Akhand Giri. The students were honored with trophies and certificates. The department expressed gratitude to the honorable Vice-Chancellor, Secretary, and Indian Bureau of Standards for the successful organization of the program.
