CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: People can now get the adult BCG vaccine, used for TB prevention, at all health centers of Bhopal Memorial Hospital and Research Centre (BMHRC). The vaccine will be administered at each health center for one week. This initiative started on July 8 at Health Center No. 1 located in Kainchi Chhola. Dr. Manisha Srivastava, the acting director of BMHRC, stated that the Government of India has set a goal to eradicate TB from the country by 2025. To achieve this goal, the government is taking several necessary steps, including launching a nationwide campaign to vaccinate adults with the BCG vaccine. The adult BCG vaccine is highly effective and completely safe in preventing TB.

She mentioned that a large number of patients visit BMHRC health centers for treatment. To ensure that they do not need to go elsewhere for this vaccine, BCG vaccination camps are being set up at all health centers. Dr. Srivastava noted that the vaccination program at BMHRC is being conducted with the cooperation of the Madhya Pradesh Health Department. The vaccines are being provided by the Madhya Pradesh government, while the necessary staff for vaccination is being provided by BMHRC.

Health Center No. 3 (Chandbad): July 22 to July 27

Health Center No. 5 (Ginnori): August 5 to August 10

Health Center No. 6 (Itwara Road): August 12 to August 17

Health Center No. 7 (Karond): August 19 to August 24

Health Center No. 8 (Bal Vihar): August 26 to August 31
