A cab driver in Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka, faces a grave allegation of killing seven members of his wife’s family, including his wife. The accused has been identified as Indushekhar alias Shekhar. Police have arrested him and are investigating to verify his claims. The dead include a seven-year-old child.

According to the preliminary investigation, the accused had an ongoing domestic dispute with his wife, Sunita. He was reportedly angry over her continued contact with her parents’ family and their intervention in family matters. Police suspect that he allegedly planned the crime because of this dispute. It is alleged that he first killed his wife and then called his two brothers-in-law to the house on the pretext of a party. He then targeted their wives, his mother-in-law and the seven-year-old child.

Police suspect that a grinding stone was used in the killings. After the incident, the accused allegedly disposed of the bodies at different locations using his car and used chemicals to remove bloodstains from the house.

The case came to light after a missing-person complaint was filed for members of the family. Police launched a search operation near Nandi Hills and recovered the body of the seven-year-old child. The search for the remaining six bodies is continuing.

According to police officials, the accused has claimed to have committed seven murders, but investigating agencies are matching his statements with the available evidence. The actual sequence of the killings, the motive and all aspects related to the disposal of the bodies remain under investigation.
