CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Under the direction of Collector Priyank Mishra, a meeting of the District Health Committee was held on Thursday at Dr. Kailash Nath Katju Civil Hospital under the chairpersonship of District Panchayat CEO Ila Tiwari.
District Panchayat CEO Ila Tiwari chaired the meeting through video conferencing. The meeting reviewed various schemes and programmes of the Health Department as well as nutrition services of the Women and Child Development Department. Officials were also asked for updates on compliance with earlier instructions and the progress of schemes.
During the meeting, officials expressed displeasure after the progress of maternal health services in Berasia development block was found to be below expectations. Shortcomings were noted particularly in early registration of pregnant women, identification of high-risk pregnancies and their proper management. Instructions were issued to serve a notice on the Block Medical Officer (BMO), Berasia.
Preparations for the upcoming National Deworming Day were also reviewed at the meeting. The campaign will be organised in the district on October 6. Under the drive, children aged 1 to 19 years will be given albendazole tablets. The objective is to protect children from intestinal worm infection.
The meeting emphasised motivating children for vaccination during Village Health, Sanitation and Nutrition Day and linking them with health services. Other issues reviewed included admission of needy children to the Nutrition Rehabilitation Centre at Govindpura Civil Hospital, monitoring of information on the Poshan Tracker, the situation regarding seasonal diseases and various other matters related to the Health Department.
Chief Medical and Health Officer, Bhopal, Dr. Manish Sharma, Sunil Solanki of the Women and Child Development Department and nodal officers of health programmes were present at the meeting.
