CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A large plantation programme was organised today on the Bhabha University campus under the joint aegis of Bhabha University and Vidya Bharati Higher Education Institute, Madhya Bharat Prant.

The programme was held as part of Bhabha University’s pledge, taken on June 5, World Environment Day, to plant and protect 1,101 saplings.

From Vidya Bharati Higher Education Institute, National Vice-President Dr. Shashi Ranjan Akela, Director of Abhyuday Research and Training Centre Dr. Pradeep Srivastava, Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology professor Dr. Vilas Varudkar, Vikramaditya Group of Institutions Director Dr. Deepika Narolia, Vidya Bharati Madhya Bharat State Vice-President Dr. Vivek Tomar and Office Minister Praveen Tyagi were present.

From Bhabha University, CEO Prasad Pillai, Pro Vice-Chancellor Dr. Bharti Satankar, Group Director Dr. Manoj Kumar Shukla, Registrar Dr. Shyam Patkar, DSW Dr. Nimish Mehta, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Dr. Ashok Kumar Jhala, along with deans of all faculties and heads of departments of the engineering department, were present.

Bhabha University Holds ‘One Tree, One Pledge’ Plantation Drive on Campus

Key highlights of the programme

A total of 1,170 second- and fourth-semester engineering students participated in the campaign. In addition, 86 faculty members also contributed to the plantation activity.

A total of 151 fruit-bearing saplings were planted on the campus on the occasion. The saplings included nine types of fruit trees, including coconut, mango, pomegranate, sapodilla, jamun, kinnow, mulberry, custard apple and dragon fruit.

At the end of the programme, all participants took a pledge for environmental protection and for the care of the saplings planted.
