CNN Central News and Network–ITDC India ePress/ITDC News Bhopal: On the occasion of World Environment Day, Bhabha University, Bhopal, organised a series of programmes dedicated to environmental protection and the creation of a green campus. The events included a tree plantation drive, an environmental awareness campaign, a seminar, and the inauguration of a specially developed Green Vertical Wall.
The Green Vertical Wall installed on the university campus was formally inaugurated by chief guests Pragesh Agrawal (Director, Excellence College), Sanjay Goyal (Joint Director, Education Department, MP Government), Dr P N Singh (Advisor, RKDF University), Sunil Patil (Chief Executive Officer, RKDF University), and Ratnesh Jain (Director, RKDF University). The university said the vertical wall will not only enhance the beauty of the campus but also play an important role in improving air quality, regulating temperature, and increasing awareness towards environmental conservation. Praising the initiative, the chief guest said such efforts help develop positive thinking towards the environment among students and society.
After this, the chief guests, the university CEO, Vice-Chancellor, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, deans, heads of departments, professors and students jointly planted saplings and took a pledge to protect the environment. Plants of various species were planted across the campus, and responsibility for their care and protection was also assigned.
At the seminar, speakers expressed their views on the importance of environmental conservation, climate change, biodiversity protection, and sustainable development. They said every individual must understand his or her responsibility towards nature in order to tackle the challenges of rising pollution and global warming.

During the programme, students gave a call to adopt a green lifestyle through messages and slogans related to environmental awareness. All those present took an oath for environmental protection and resolved to plant more trees, conserve water, maintain cleanliness, and plant 1,101 saplings by August 2026.
At the end, the university administration thanked the chief guests and all participants and said Bhabha University would continue to organise such public-interest programmes related to environmental protection and sustainable development in the future as well.
The World Environment Day programme emerged as an excellent example of environmental awareness, green development, and social responsibility.
