CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Unveiling of Bhagwan Birsa Munda’s Portrait at Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication On the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda and Tribal Pride Day, the university unit of the Madhya Pradesh State Employees Union organized a portrait unveiling ceremony at the Bhagwan Birsa Munda Guest House of Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication (MCU). The portrait was unveiled by the Registrar of the university, Avinash Vajpeyi, at a ceremony held in the Makhanpuram campus.

The event was attended by Assistant Registrar Rajesh Sharma, Producer Ramdeen Tyagi, Co-Coordinator of the Scheduled Castes and Tribes Cell, Gyaneshwar Dhoke, Sub-Engineer Mukesh Choudhary, Administrative Officer Surendra Birwa, Office Superintendent Aditya Jain, along with several senior officials, faculty members, and staff.

Director Ramdeen Tyagi, in his address, highlighted that Bhagwan Birsa Munda was born into an economically modest family and was named Birsa as he was born on a Thursday. He launched a nationwide awareness campaign, dedicated himself to serving the tribal community, and sacrificed everything for the upliftment of tribal society.

Co-Coordinator of the Scheduled Castes and Tribes Cell, Gyaneshwar Dhoke, spoke about the personality of Bhagwan Birsa, describing him as a freedom fighter, tribal hero, and “Kranti Surya” (Revolutionary Sun) known as “Dharti Aaba” (Father of the Earth).

The program was coordinated by Mukesh Sharma, with key contributions from President Kodai Verma, Treasurer Nitin Khare, Office and Publicity Minister Nikhil Chaurasia, Co-Treasurer Vishal Khare, Toran Singh Parihar, Chamansingh Arya, Ashok Deshmukh, Raju Srivas, Suman Burde, Brijesh Narayan Rajouria, Ashok Thakur, Manoj Varte, Anil Mehta, Priyanka Sonkar, and other executive members and staff.

Secretary Deepak Soni expressed gratitude to all the officials and staff for their participation and support in making the event successful.
