CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: At the Central Sanskrit University, Bhopal Campus, on the 18th day of the 21-day National Theatre Workshop, subject expert Prof. Ramkumar Sharma from Jaipur elaborated on the unique features of “Bhavaprakash”, authored by Sharadatanaya.
He remarked that Bhavaprakash presents a remarkable confluence of classical elements and artistic expression.
Sharadatanaya undertook an in-depth study of earlier dramatic works and classical treatises before composing Bhavaprakash. The text uniquely blends classical theory with artistic philosophy.
Following the path outlined by Bharatamuni in the Natya Shastra regarding artistic progression, Sharadatanaya introduced these concepts to society through Bhavaprakash.
What sets this work apart is its novelty: it provides relevant examples in verse form, citing both the original texts and their contexts.
This treatise can be considered a manual of aesthetic theory—Natya-Rasayan or Kala-Rasayan—for students of dramatic and performing arts.
Prof. Sharma emphasized the need for deeper research on this text, suggesting that scholars should engage with it so that new insights may come to light for the academic community.
