CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Students of Babulal Gaur Government Postgraduate College, BHEL Bhopal, had the opportunity to explore India’s historical heritage and glorious cultural traditions. College Principal Sanjay Jain stated that, following the directives of the Higher Education Department, a group of students visited the State Museum, Bhopal, to closely experience India’s rich history and cultural legacy.

During the visit, students observed artifacts from Mohenjo Daro, 10th and 11th-century sculptures from Madhya Pradesh’s key sites, ancient coins from the 6th century BCE to the 20th century, and firearms and rifles used during the 1857 revolt. They also explored handwritten manuscripts on birch bark, 15th-century handwritten copies, and 250-year-old artifacts from the era of Bhopal’s Nawabs. Additionally, they saw Sherwanis worn by the Nawab family, traditional turbans of the Holkar, Bundela, and Scindia dynasties, and royal garments worn on various occasions. The students also examined historical records from the princely states of Gwalior, Indore, and Bhopal, helping them understand how humanity faced challenges in the past.

A remarkable moment of the visit was meeting a French couple, where the husband was an engineer and the wife was a doctor. They praised India’s hospitality, calling it a unique host country.

This educational tour was organized under the guidance of Travel & Tourism course coordinator Prof. Chitra Khare, along with subject experts Lalit Gaur, Prof. Anupama Geete, and Dr. Anupama Yadav. The students were fascinated by the detailed insights shared by the experts and felt privileged to witness firsthand what they had previously studied only in books, allowing them to deeply connect with India’s heritage and culture.
