CNN Central News & Network β ITDC India E-Press / ITDC News Bhopal:On the eve of International No Tobacco Day at Madhya Pradesh Bhoj Open University, students, staff, officials, and teachers were made aware of the prohibition on tobacco use. On this occasion, Ratan Suryavanshi, Director of the Student Support Department of the university, administered the oath to everyone. He encouraged all employees to refrain from using tobacco, cigarettes, cigars, electronic cigarettes, gutka, khaini, and other tobacco products to avoid diseases and other adverse effects caused by tobacco.
He stated that tobacco consumption can cause many diseases, including cancer, heart disease, stroke, and lung diseases. Tobacco use increases the risk of cancer in the mouth, tongue, gums, throat, lungs, bladder, and pancreas. Additionally, tobacco raises blood pressure and cholesterol levels, increasing the chances of a heart attack.
On this occasion, university Director L.P. Jharia, Vibha Mishra, Anita Kaushal, Acting Registrar Nitin Sangale, along with all university officials, teachers, students, and staff, were present.
