CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Demonstrating his passion for sports alongside his administrative duties, Bhopal ADM Siddharth Jain delivered an outstanding performance in the State Civil Services Chess Championship. Competing against players from various districts of Madhya Pradesh, Director Jain showcased exceptional talent, narrowly missing the gold medal by just half a point and securing the silver.

In this competition, Katni’s Director Shekhar Verma claimed the top position, reinforcing Katni’s reputation as “The City of Chess.” Shekhar earned first place with 5.5 points, while Director Siddharth Jain secured second place with 5 points. Deepak Chivande from the Bhopal Education Department also scored 5 points and achieved third place. In the women’s category, Katni’s Monika Nishad delivered a remarkable performance to claim first place, with Padmaja Naidu from Indore and Snehlata Nagesh from Narmadapuram taking second and third places, respectively.

This prestigious tournament was organized by the Department of Sports and Youth Welfare at Indore Public School. The award ceremony was graced by notable guests, including Akshat Khamparia, International Master and Coordinator of the MP Chess Ad Hoc Committee, Dr. Sunil Somani, Chancellor of Oriental University, and Anil Fatehchandani, Director of the All Indore Chess Association.
