CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A significant initiative has been launched in Bhopal for environmental conservation. The Forest Department, TINSA Foundation, and the Municipal Corporation have jointly started the Jal Ganga Conservation Campaign. The main objective of this campaign is to make the Kaliasot area free from polythene.

Students from various colleges in the city are voluntarily participating in this campaign. Employees of the Municipal Corporation and frontline staff of the Forest Department are also actively involved. This initiative aims to improve the air quality of the city and preserve Bhopal’s natural beauty.

According to Deputy Divisional Forest Officer Dheeraj Singh Chauhan, the Kaliasot Dam area is a tiger movement zone and is rich in natural biodiversity. Locals refer to it as Bhopal’s oxygen belt. This campaign will help in preserving the region’s ecosystem and maintaining environmental cleanliness in the city.

Several key officials were present at the campaign, including Municipal Corporation Additional Commissioner Devendra Chauhan, BNS College Director Vipin Dhote, DFO Dheeraj Singh Chauhan, Forest Range Officer Shivpal Piparde, along with many Forest Department staff.
