CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal : A crucial meeting was held at Itarsi station under the Bhopal Division of West Central Railway to provide better catering services to passengers and reduce complaints. Under the guidance of Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Saurabh Kataria, Divisional Commercial Manager Pankaj Kumar Dubey inspected passenger amenities available at Itarsi station and conducted the meeting in the Station Manager’s office. Around 30 catering licensees and their representatives working at Itarsi station were invited to the meeting.

The primary objective was to address feedback received through social media and direct complaints and bring necessary improvements in catering services.

Divisional Commercial Manager Dubey instructed all representatives to strictly adhere to the contract terms set by the railway administration. He emphasized that passenger satisfaction is the topmost priority of Indian Railways and warned that any negligence would invite strict action.

Key discussion points during the meeting included:

Stalls must operate only from their designated locations.

Sale of unpackaged food must be prohibited.

All vendors must wear proper uniforms, carry ID cards, and work with valid authorization.

Food must not be sold by placing it on the platform.

Cleanliness must be maintained.

Vendors must behave respectfully with passengers.

Items should be sold only at prescribed rates, and any overcharging will lead to immediate penal action.

Railway officials present included Divisional Commercial Inspector Utkarsh Agrawal, Station Manager (Commercial) Rajeev Gauhar, Chief Catering Inspector Hemraj Meena, Station Manager (Operations) Sudhendu Rai, and Chief Ticket Inspector Praveen Purohit. The railway administration appealed to all licensees to cooperate and ensure disciplined and high-quality service to passengers.
