CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Director of the Election Commission of India (ECI), New Delhi, Shubhra Saxena, conducted a meeting in the conference hall of Bhopal Collectorate to review in detail the preparations and progress of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the Voter List. During the meeting, she instructed officials to ensure that the voter list remains completely clean, accurate, and error-free.
Director Saxena emphasized that Bhopal district must set an example at the national level by performing exceptionally in the SIR campaign. She stated that the SIR model developed from the state capital should become a benchmark for the entire state, and for that, all EROs and BLOs must work with utmost seriousness at the ground level.
Expressing displeasure over low mapping data on the BLO App, she directed BLOs to upload data online at the earliest. She also instructed the Collector and Municipal Commissioner to jointly carry out SIR work in urban areas and to strengthen the help desk at the municipal office.

Collector Kaushlendra Vikram Singh informed that all SDM offices in Bhopal district are actively engaged in SIR work. During the meeting, Director Saxena praised BLO Brajesh Sharma of Huzur Assembly Constituency No. 155 for achieving 76% voter mapping in a single day, accomplished with the help of IT expert volunteers.
She directed all EROs to ensure 100% mapping of eligible voters on the BLO App within the next seven days, by cross-verifying with the 2003 voter list. She also instructed that special camps be organized in slum areas of Bhopal to accelerate SIR activities.

Saxena interacted one-on-one with field-level BLOs and emphasized that no voter should face any inconvenience during the SIR process. She clearly instructed that “no eligible voter should be left out, and no ineligible voter should be included.” The primary goal of the SIR, she said, is to prepare a pure, transparent, and error-free voter list.
She also instructed that the voter list be linked with the 2003 list as per ECI guidelines and that voters missing from it be linked through family lineage records. Emphasis was placed on providing better training to BLOs and ensuring the effective use of the BLO App, along with timely distribution of enumeration forms to all voters.

Collector Kaushlendra Vikram Singh informed that, as per ECI directives, all EROs, AEROs, and BLOs have been trained, and adequate staff has been deployed for SIR duties. Additional employees have also been assigned to assist BLOs. He stated that SIR activities began on November 4 in the district as per the action plan, and the work is being carried out with full transparency and efficiency.
The meeting was attended by ECI Secretary Vinod Kumar, Joint Chief Electoral Officers of Madhya Pradesh R.P.S. Jadoun and Sanjay Srivastava, Deputy Chief Electoral Officer Surabhi Tiwari, Municipal Commissioner Sanskruti Jain, ADM Sumit Kumar Pandey, along with all SDMs, EROs, AEROs, and BLOs of the assembly constituencies.
