CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Indian Railways is continuously committed to providing dignified, accessible, and affordable travel facilities to Divyang (persons with disabilities) passengers. Carrying forward this objective, the Bhopal Division of West Central Railway has issued 261 Divyang concession cards in the first four months of the year 2026.

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Saurabh Kataria informed that Indian Railways offers special fare concessions ranging from 25% to 75% for visually impaired, mentally challenged, hearing and speech impaired, and orthopedically handicapped passengers. This concession can be availed through the Divyang concession card, which is valid for both counter and online ticket bookings. If a Divyang passenger is accompanied by an escort, the escort is also entitled to the same concession.

Passengers wishing to obtain a Divyang concession card can apply online. Required documents include a disability certificate issued by a district medical hospital, a railway concession certificate issued by a government hospital under West Central Railway jurisdiction, Aadhaar card, birth certificate, and a passport-size photograph. These documents must be uploaded on the Indian Railways website: https://divyangjanid.indianrail.gov.in. After verification, the card is issued, and the applicant is informed via SMS.
