CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Indian Railways is committed to providing clean and high-quality bedrolls to its passengers. In all air-conditioned trains operated under the Bhopal Division of West Central Railway, passengers are provided with clean, hygienic, and high-quality bedrolls. All sheets and pillow covers are washed and ironed in mechanized laundries after every use to ensure a comfortable, hygienic, and safe journey for the passengers.

The Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Bhopal Division, Mr. Devashish Tripathi, said, “We are constantly striving to provide the best facilities to our passengers. Supplying clean and high-quality linen is one of our top priorities.”

Detailed Linen Washing Process:

Sorting and Inspection:

Used linen is sorted upon arrival at the laundry, and any damaged or torn items are separated.

Pre-Treatment:

Stains are treated with pre-treatment solutions to ensure complete cleanliness after washing.

Automated Washing:

Linen is washed in large industrial machines using high-quality detergents and sanitizers. Special attention is given to water temperature and wash duration to eliminate bacteria and viruses.

Drying Process:

Washed linen is dried in tumble dryers, ensuring additional sanitization.

Pressing and Folding:

The dried linen is pressed and folded as per packaging requirements.

Quality Control:

Every piece of linen undergoes cleanliness and whiteness checks. A whiteness meter is used to ensure the highest quality standards.

Bhopal Division is environmentally conscious. Advanced water recycling systems (ETPs) are used to conserve water, and biodegradable detergents are employed to minimize environmental impact.

Clean and packed linens are then sent back to the trains, where they are arranged for passenger use, providing a hygienic and comfortable experience.

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Mr. Saurabh Kataria stated that linen is currently supplied in about 20 trains under the Bhopal Division. Major trains include the Shaan-e-Bhopal Express, Humsafar Express, Rewanchal Express, Urjadhani Express, Bhopal-Pratapgarh Express, Rani Kamlapati-Agartala Express, Saharsa Express, and Bhopal-Rewa Express.

Senior Divisional Mechanical Engineer Mr. R.P. Khare emphasized, “We pay special attention to cleanliness and hygiene and take every possible step to ensure passenger satisfaction.”

Passengers can use the Rail Madad portal for any complaints or suggestions related to linen, ensuring quick resolution of their concerns.

Through these efforts, Indian Railways ensures that passengers receive clean, hygienic, and comfortable linen, enhancing their travel experience.
