CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Regional Museum of Natural History, Bhopal (a regional center of the National Museum of Natural History, New Delhi) organized two programs as part of the Summer Nature Study Program — one for the participants of “Green Cubs” and another for “Green Cadets.” These included:

Tree Identification Activity for Green Cadets
During the Environmental Games Program, Dilip Kumar Chakravarty, Environmental Education Officer from the Environmental Planning and Coordination Organisation (EPCO), engaged participants through interactive games focused on:
Waste segregation, Water conservation, Food web, Mission LiFE
“Who Am I?” and other fun games
These activities helped convey the importance of the environment and nature conservation. A total of 19 participants took part in the session.
As part of the Tree Identification Program under the Summer Nature Study Program – Green Cadets, Sudesh Bagmare, former Deputy Conservator of Forests, Government of Madhya Pradesh, educated participants on different techniques for identifying trees — such as the shape and type of the tree, leaf structures, bark, flower characteristics, fruit types, etc. He also elaborated on the ecological importance of trees for humans, insects, birds, and animals.
Participants were taken around the museum campus to learn about and identify a variety of tree species, such as:
Champa, hilbil, Kala Siris, Tamarind, Shishamm, Kasondari, Jamun, Ratanjot, Karanj, Peepal, Neem, Banyan, Kullu, Kadamba, Ficus benjamina, Drumstick (Moringa), Mulberry, Kathguggul, Semal, Kasai, Harad, Baheda, Amla, White Siris, Kachnar, Babool, Bakain, Cluster Fig (Gular),Arjun, Jungle Jalebi
At the end of the program, the museum’s Scientist-C and Program Coordinator appealed to participants to plant and protect trees for a better future.
