CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Collector Priyank Mishra has said that Bhopal’s inclusion among the 120 prominent districts selected under the Government of India’s ambitious “District as Export Hub” initiative is a matter of great pride for the entire district. He said that to translate this global opportunity into results on the ground, a strong and well-structured action plan must be prepared and the set targets achieved within the prescribed timeframe.
Collector Mishra was chairing a meeting of the district-level Export Promotion Committee in the meeting hall of the Collector’s office and issuing directions to officials.
Emphasising the need to strengthen the district’s export landscape and provide a global platform to local products, Collector Priyank Mishra said: “Our main objective is to increase the number of new exporters in the district and provide every possible technical and administrative support to existing exporters. For this, an effective cluster-based model should be developed, which can provide our entrepreneurs and exporters with an accessible, transparent and fully equipped environment with all necessary facilities, ensuring the expected growth in Bhopal’s export graph.”
Collector Mishra issued strict directions regarding the successful organisation of the upcoming E-Commerce Summit, aimed at giving new energy to commercial and trade activities in the district. He directed that the presence of more than 100 active stakeholders and participants be ensured at the summit. He also instructed that the specific facilities, grants and policies provided for export promotion by various financial and government departments, including NABARD, SIDBI, Exim Bank and DGFT, be widely publicised so that local entrepreneurs become aware of them and can derive maximum benefit.
For the quick and effective resolution of practical problems and ground-level hurdles faced by exporters, Collector Mishra clearly directed that “Udyam Mitras” be specially invited to the next meeting. This will allow the practical difficulties and grievances arising in the export process to be heard directly, and ensure their time-bound and lasting resolution through coordination among various departments.
During the meeting, Abhishek Sharma, Joint Director of the Directorate General of Foreign Trade, presented a detailed account of the District Export Action Plan. Sharing the notable progress and achievements made so far by Bhopal district in the field of exports, he outlined the next strategic action plan to create awareness among various agencies and exporters.
