CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Bhopal Railway Division’s hockey team once again proved its excellence by delivering a stellar performance in the 8th National Indoor Hockey Championship, held in Nashik, Maharashtra.
In their opening match, the Bhopal Railway Team defeated Punjab 3-0, kicking off their campaign with a strong win.
They followed this with a 3-0 victory over West Bengal in the quarterfinals, and then edged past Jharkhand 6-5 in a thrilling semifinal to secure their place in the final.
In the championship final, the team showcased complete dominance, beating Mumbai 4-0 to clinch the winner’s trophy.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Saurabh Kataria stated that the team’s captain and goalkeeper, Amanullah, delivered an outstanding performance throughout the tournament. His crucial saves, especially in the quarterfinal and semifinal matches, played a pivotal role in the team’s advancement and ultimate victory.
