CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Bhopal: District-level Swanidhi festivals and public welfare fairs will be organised.
District Panchayat Bhopal Chief Executive Officer Ila Tiwari said wide publicity of various skill development-related schemes and programmes among every section of society is necessary to ensure effective achievement of the targets set for them. She said that by taking information about skill development opportunities to the last mile, more and more youths, especially women, can be linked to employment and self-employment.
Tiwari was addressing a meeting of the District Skill Committee held at the Government Divisional Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Govindpura. The meeting reviewed the progress of skill development programmes, employment-oriented schemes and beneficiary-based activities being run in the district, and discussed the future action plan in detail.
At the meeting, Tiwari directed officials to ensure maximum participation in the upcoming mega women-centric placement drives under UN Women’s “We STEM” programme on June 12, which offers more than 100 posts, and by Trident Budhni on June 16, which offers more than 500 posts. She stressed the need for a wide awareness campaign to connect women associated with the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), the National Urban Livelihood Mission (NULM), self-help groups, as well as girls and women who have passed Class 8, Class 10 and Class 12, with these opportunities. She also directed that special publicity be carried out in rural and urban areas through anganwadi workers and voluntary organisations.
Tiwari also laid special emphasis on publicity of skill development schemes and information related to ITI admissions in public welfare camps and hostels for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Other Backward Class students. She directed that information of students studying in ITIs be mandatorily entered on the “Harsh Portal” to prepare their comprehensive profiles.
