In terms of wealth in Bollywood, a name has emerged this time that is usually associated not with acting but with the music and film business. T-Series chairman and managing director Bhushan Kumar’s estimated wealth has been pegged at around Rs 36,300 crore, according to the 2026 Hurun India Rich List. With this figure, he ranks among the richest Indian names in the entertainment world.
In the Hurun list, Bhushan Kumar is ranked 87th and is said to be the only person from the entertainment industry to feature in the top 100. For comparison, Shah Rukh Khan’s estimated wealth is reported to be around Rs 10,000 crore and Salman Khan’s around Rs 3,000 crore. Amitabh Bachchan and Hrithik Roshan’s estimated wealth is reported at around Rs 4,000 crore and Rs 2,500 crore, respectively.
Bhushan Kumar’s father Gulshan Kumar founded T-Series in 1983. After his death in 1997, Bhushan Kumar, then just 19 years old, took charge of the company along with his uncle Krishan Kumar. T-Series later expanded beyond music into film production, film distribution and digital entertainment.
T-Series’ digital reach is also a major part of the company’s success. According to reports, by August 2026, its YouTube channel had more than 300 million subscribers and over 353 billion views. Hurun data shows that the estimated wealth of Bhushan Kumar and his family rose from around Rs 10,500 crore in 2024 to Rs 36,300 crore in 2026.
