CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Patna. There is important news for candidates appearing in the Bihar Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test (STET) 2026. The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has changed the date of the STET exam earlier proposed for November 4. The examination will now be held on November 21, 2026.
The change in the examination date has been attributed to a clash with recruitment examinations of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS).
According to the Bihar Board, revised admit cards will be issued for candidates whose examination was earlier scheduled for November 4. Candidates will be able to download their new admit cards from October 24, 2026. They have been advised to keep checking the official examination portal, stetregistration.cbrt.co.in, for updates.
After downloading the new admit card, candidates should carefully check the examination date, shift, reporting time and address of the examination centre. It will be mandatory to carry the revised admit card to the examination centre.
The change in date applies only to the examination scheduled for November 4. Examinations for candidates appearing on other dates will be held as per the previously announced schedule. The STET 2026 examinations are being conducted in computer-based test (CBT) mode.
Candidates have been advised to rely only on the board’s official website and examination portal for the latest information instead of trusting unverified messages circulated on social media.
The Bihar STET is conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates aspiring to become teachers at the secondary and higher secondary levels. The examination has two papers. Paper 1 is for candidates who wish to teach Classes 9 and 10, while Paper 2 is meant for teachers of Classes 11 and 12.
Candidates should continue their preparation and plan their strategy according to the revised schedule. Those whose examination date has been changed should follow all instructions given in the new admit card after it is issued.
