CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Patna. Bihar’s young batter Anmol Kumar has drawn attention in Indian domestic cricket with his explosive batting. In an Under-19 match of the Vinoo Mankad Trophy, Anmol played a blistering innings of 184 runs off just 86 balls against Haryana. His knock included 18 sixes and 11 fours. Anmol’s performance is being compared with young batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi.
Anmol created a stir with 18 sixes and 11 fours in the match played at CAP Ground-3 in Puducherry. He adopted an aggressive approach against the Haryana bowlers and, with big shots, put Bihar’s innings in a strong position. Thanks to his batting, the Bihar Under-19 team scored 325 runs in 46.1 overs. In reply, Haryana could manage only 288 runs in 42.2 overs. The weather-affected match was decided by the V.J.D. method, with Bihar recording a 19-run win. Anmol’s innings was among the biggest highlights of the victory.
The sons of Sehwag and Dravid also made headlines in the same tournament. Former India cricketer Virender Sehwag’s son Aaryavir Sehwag scored 173 runs off 143 balls for Delhi. Rahul Dravid’s son Anvay Dravid scored 151 runs off 100 balls for Karnataka against Gujarat. The performances of the three young batters have brought Under-19 cricket into focus.
After Anmol’s innings, questions were also raised on social media about whether his performance was getting adequate recognition. Some fans said every young player who performs strongly in domestic cricket should get equal opportunity and recognition. However, a player’s future cannot be assessed on the basis of just one innings. Consistent performances and success in the selection process will determine the road ahead.
