CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Delhi: Bisleri International partnered with the Purple Umbrella Festival 2026 as its Official Hydration Partner, promoting responsible plastic waste management and recycling among young people. Held at the Dr Ambedkar International Centre in New Delhi, the festival brought together more than 1,000 school students, educators, climate experts, artists and innovators under the theme “AI & Climate: Reimagining the Future Together.”
As part of the collaboration, Bisleri’s flagship “Bottles for Change” initiative focused on educating participants about plastic recycling, responsible disposal and the concept of a circular economy. The company created a dedicated “Greener Promise” experience to demonstrate how used plastic can be collected, recycled and transformed into useful products.
A key attraction was “Wings of Change,” an art installation made using 2,000 used polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles. The installation used creative expression to communicate the importance of recycling and reusing plastic materials. Bisleri also showcased its “Benches of Dreams,” made from recycled plastic, illustrating how discarded materials can be repurposed for everyday use.
Dr Angelo George, Chief Executive Officer of Bisleri International, said engaging young people in environmental responsibility is important for encouraging sustainable everyday choices. Neeraj Kumar, founder of the Purple Umbrella Foundation, highlighted the role of creative and practical experiences in helping students understand climate challenges and identify ways to address them.
The festival featured theatre performances, short films, documentaries, student innovations, climate discussions, a Climate, Health and Mental Wellbeing Conclave, and a Climate and Heritage Quiz. The event supports the Purple Umbrella Foundation’s broader mission of empowering one million young climate champions.
Through its participation, Bisleri aims to strengthen awareness of responsible plastic disposal, recycling and resource recovery while encouraging students to become active participants in environmental action.
