BJP Claims Mamata Camp Represents Fake TMC

CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has intensified its attack on the Trinamool Congress (TMC), claiming that the debate over the “real TMC” has effectively been settled and alleging that the faction led by Mamata Banerjee and Abhishek Banerjee no longer represents the party’s true leadership. The remarks come amid an escalating internal crisis within the TMC following a series of resignations, defections, and growing dissent among party MPs and leaders.

BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla cited a document reportedly signed by around 20 Lok Sabha MPs, arguing that it demonstrates support for a dissident faction led by Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar. According to the BJP, the development reflects widespread dissatisfaction within the party and signals a major shift in TMC’s internal power structure.

The controversy has gained momentum as rebel MPs reportedly prepare to seek recognition as the “real Trinamool” in Parliament, while internal disagreements involving senior leaders have become increasingly public. Recent resignations and factional disputes have further highlighted the challenges facing the party leadership.

TMC leaders, however, have dismissed BJP’s claims and continue to maintain that the party remains united under its established leadership. Political observers believe the ongoing struggle could have significant implications for opposition politics in West Bengal and the future direction of the Trinamool Congress.
