The BJP took out a foot march in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, under its “Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy” campaign. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath joined the march and targeted opposition parties, especially the Congress. He alleged that the opposition was trying to weaken democratic institutions and the constitutional order.

Addressing workers and supporters during the foot march, the Chief Minister said respect for the Constitution and the people’s mandate is necessary to strengthen democracy. Questioning the political activities of the opposition, he called on BJP workers to go among the public and communicate the government’s policies and achievements.

Local BJP leaders, office-bearers and a large number of workers took part in the event. The party presented the programme, held in Ghaziabad’s Raj Nagar Extension area, as linked to the issues of democratic values and political accountability.

Through the foot march, the BJP sought to deliver its political message against the opposition while demonstrating organisational unity. Following the Chief Minister’s remarks, political debate on the issue is likely to intensify in the state.
