CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has made a major organisational reshuffle in Chhattisgarh, replacing Pawan Sai as the state general secretary (organisation). Karmveer has been appointed to take charge of the organisational post in the state, while Sai has been assigned responsibility for Jharkhand.
The appointments were announced on Thursday by BJP national president Nitin Nabin as part of a wider organisational restructuring across several states. Karmveer, who had been serving as Jharkhand BJP’s state general secretary (organisation), will now be based in Raipur.
Pawan Sai, who had been handling the organisational responsibility in Chhattisgarh, has been appointed state general secretary (organisation) for Jharkhand. He is from Raigarh district in Chhattisgarh and has held organisational responsibilities in the state for several years.
Karmveer has an RSS organisational background and has previously worked in different organisational roles in Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand. He served as BJP Uttar Pradesh’s state joint general secretary (organisation) from 2020 and became Jharkhand BJP’s state general secretary (organisation) in August 2022.
The reshuffle also affects Ajay Jamwal, who has been moved from Chhattisgarh to Maharashtra as state general secretary (organisation). Shivprakash has been assigned as national joint general secretary (organisation) for Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Goa.
The changes form part of the BJP’s wider organisational appointments announced across states on September 24, 2026.
