He defeated Samajwadi Party (SP) candidate Shashank Yadav and secured his place in the Legislative Council once again. With this victory, the BJP has retained its representation on the Agra division graduates’ seat.

In Agra, the BJP and SP shared the seats. In the teachers’ constituency of the Agra division, SP candidate Dr. Akash Agarwal defeated the BJP’s Hari Kishore Tiwari by 4,263 votes. In the graduates’ constituency, BJP’s Manvendra Pratap Singh registered victory. In this way, the results of the teachers’ and graduates’ seats in Agra remained significant for both major parties.

These MLC election results have become a subject of discussion in Uttar Pradesh politics. However, rather than viewing the results of these Legislative Council seats as a direct indication of the upcoming Assembly election, it would be appropriate to see them in the context of the concerned constituencies and voter groups.
