CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The outdated elevators at BMHRC will soon be replaced with 11 new ones. The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has approved this initiative and sanctioned ₹6.27 crore for the project. ICMR has also informed CPWD (Central Public Works Department) about the approval, and the installation of the new elevators will commence soon under CPWD’s supervision.

Manisha Srivastava, the acting director of BMHRC, stated that ICMR has provided a New Year’s gift to BMHRC and the gas victims, along with other patients visiting the hospital. Currently, all the elevators in the hospital are around 25 years old, frequently breaking down and becoming difficult to repair. Last year, we submitted a proposal to ICMR to replace these 11 elevators with new ones. The process has been ongoing, and it is a matter of great joy that ICMR has now approved the installation of the new elevators. This will significantly benefit the gas victims and other patients visiting the hospital.
