CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Another department at Bhopal Memorial Hospital and Research Centre (BMHRC) is set to begin a super-specialty course. The institution has received approval from the National Medical Council (NMC) to start the MCh course in the Urology Department. The course will offer two seats in Urology, with new students expected to join after counseling.
BMHRC’s Acting Director, Manisha Srivastava, expressed her delight at the approval to start the MCh course in the Urology Department. She mentioned that the inclusion of MCh students will enhance patient care and increase the department’s efficiency. She also stated that efforts are being made to transform BMHRC into a full-fledged postgraduate institute.
Currently, postgraduate (PG) and super-specialty courses are already being offered in departments such as Cardiology, Neurosurgery, Anesthesiology, Psychiatry, Microbiology, Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery (CTVS), and Ophthalmology. PG courses are expected to begin in the Pathology and Transfusion departments next year.
Dr. Srivastava added that two urologists recently joined the Urology Department, bringing the total number of consultants in the department to three.
