CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: “BMHRC Launches ‘Drishti Rath’ for Eye Donation Awareness Campaign”
The Bhopal Memorial Hospital and Research Centre (BMHRC) is observing Eye Donation Fortnight until September 8. During this period, daily events are being organized to raise public awareness about eye donation.
As part of this initiative, a four-wheeled vehicle named “Drishti Rath” has been prepared to spread the message of eye donation to every household. The “Drishti Rath” was flagged off by Manisha Srivastava, the Acting Director of BMHRC.
This vehicle is traveling to urban and rural areas of Bhopal district, visiting various schools and colleges to encourage people to pledge for eye donation. Manisha Srivastava mentioned that various programs are being conducted at BMHRC as part of the Eye Donation Fortnight. Patients visiting the hospital are also being educated about eye donation.
Street plays are being organized, and efforts are being made to educate people about eye donation in different residential colonies. There are many misconceptions among the general public regarding eye donation, and efforts are being made to address and clarify these misconceptions.
