CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Divisional Commissioner Karmveer Sharma reviewed the progress of works related to the Bhopal Metropolitan Region Plan and directed officials to prepare the plan with a time-bound, scientific and coordinated approach, keeping long-term requirements in mind. He said the Bhopal Metropolitan Region Plan will form the basis for balanced, sustainable and comprehensive development of the area, and therefore quality and broad consultation must be ensured at every stage.

At the meeting, detailed information was presented on the overall structure of the Bhopal Metropolitan Region, the proposed timeline of the project and the various stages of work. The process of boundary demarcation of the region and the analysis of the current situation were also discussed in detail.

During the presentation, analysis was presented on key subjects including demography, mobility and transport, economy, ecology and natural resources, and physical and social infrastructure. On this basis, potential development areas were identified for priority sectors such as agriculture, industrial development, logistics, education and tourism.

Divisional Commissioner Sharma gave important suggestions to make the analysis more effective and fact-based. He said each component of the plan should be prepared by taking into account the future needs of the region and its development potential, so that its implementation can be more effective.

He also directed that broad stakeholder consultations be organised with all related departments and institutions, so that the suggestions of various departments and local requirements can be incorporated into the plan and a shared vision can be prepared for the comprehensive and balanced development of the Bhopal Metropolitan Region.
