CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: On the night of September 4, 2025, the embankment of Boraj Pond in Ajmer, Rajasthan, collapsed following days of heavy rainfall. The breach led to swift flooding in several localities, including Swastik Nagar, Bharat Nagar, Rawat Nagar, Jyoti Nagar, SS Colony, and parts of Foy Sagar Road. Residents were forced to seek refuge on rooftops as water levels rose rapidly, damaging homes and properties.

Approximately 1,000 homes were affected, with four houses completely destroyed and nearly 100 others sustaining significant structural damage. The swift current washed away household items, vehicles, and personal belongings.

Local authorities, including the district administration and disaster response teams, initiated immediate rescue operations. Roads were closed to prevent further casualties, and temporary shelters were set up for displaced families.

While no fatalities have been reported, the incident has raised concerns about the vulnerability of infrastructure during extreme weather events.’
