CNN Central News & Networks / ITDC India ePress / ITDC News /Agencies/ Bhopal: CNN Central News and Networks / ITDC India ePress / ITDC News / Agencies: The BJP’s ‘Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy’ foot march was taken out in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, on Wednesday. Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak participated with party workers, walking for around one kilometre. During the march, he targeted the Samajwadi Party and opposition parties while presenting his government’s position on law and order in the state.
The foot march began at Brijendra Swaroop Park and concluded with a public meeting at Motijheel Ground. BJP workers from 17 districts of the party’s Kanpur-Bundelkhand region took part in the programme. Addressing the meeting at Motijheel, Brajesh Pathak said mafia lodged in jails were waiting to see when their ‘bhaiya’ would come to power so that they could come out again and commit atrocities. His statement was seen as a direct political attack on the Samajwadi Party and its leadership.
The Deputy Chief Minister alleged that the opposition’s politics had promoted anarchy in the state. He said the BJP government had taken strict action against crime and mafia activities, and that maintaining law and order was the government’s priority.
The BJP foot march is part of a three-day campaign being run across the state. Through it, the party has planned a strategy to respond to the opposition’s allegations and take its message to the public. The programme held in Kanpur is also being seen as an exercise to increase organisational activity and political public outreach ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections.
