CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Brazil have announced their 26-member squad for the historic football match against India. Head coach Carlo Ancelotti announced the team on September 9.
The match between Brazil and India will be the first international fixture between the two senior national teams. It will be played at Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata on October 3, 2026.
Brazil’s squad includes major names such as Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior, Barcelona’s Raphinha, PSG’s Marquinhos, Arsenal’s Gabriel Magalhaes and Real Madrid’s Endrick. Eight players have also been included in the national team for the first time.
Through this selection, Ancelotti has indicated that younger players will be given more opportunities. He said the focus is on preparing a new generation in the team, while experienced players will help the youngsters through the transition.
Before the match against India, Brazil will play two friendly matches against Australia on September 25 and 29. They will then face India in Kolkata on October 3. Notably, Brazil star Neymar is not part of this squad.
