CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Under the PM-USHA scheme, a two-day hands-on training cum workshop on QGIS-GIS was inaugurated at the Department of Geology, Barkatullah University. More than 60 students participated in the program.
While inaugurating the event, Dr. Vinisha Singh, Convener and Head of the Geology Department, welcomed all the experts and highlighted the importance and technical relevance of QGIS-GIS training. Participants from various departments gained insights into skill development through this training.

Resource person Rubina Khan explained how GIS technology can assist in relief and rescue operations during natural disasters such as floods. Another expert, Sharaddeep, emphasized the utility of GIS software and open-source technology for students and researchers.

The workshop is being organized under the Prime Minister’s Higher Education Campaign (PM-USHA) in association with the Entrepreneurship Development Centre, Madhya Pradesh (CEDMAP). On this occasion, CEDMAP District Coordinator Arun Gupta, PM-USHA representatives from Barkatullah University including Abhilasha Bhawsar and Rekha Khandia, along with other faculty members, were present.
