CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Bulandshahr. In Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, the wife of a power department sub-divisional officer (SDO) has levelled allegations linked to assets disproportionate to income and an expensive lifestyle. The complaint reportedly mentions property worth crores of rupees and a Thar vehicle bearing the number ‘0007’. Taking the matter seriously, state Energy Minister AK Sharma has directed departmental officials to conduct an inquiry.
The matter came into discussion after the wife’s complaint. According to media reports, the wife of SDO Krishna Kaushik submitted a written complaint before senior officials, seeking an inquiry into her husband’s assets and expenses. The complaint alleges that his lifestyle and assets are higher than his income. However, these claims have not been independently verified and cannot be treated as established facts before the inquiry is completed.
According to the report, Energy Minister AK Sharma on 20 October directed the managing director of Paschimanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited to investigate the matter. The inquiry is expected to examine the allegations made in the complaint, including the source of assets, income and expenditure details. The actual position of the allegations will become clear only after the findings of the inquiry are available.
Separate media reports related to the case have also stated that a case was earlier registered against the SDO and his family members over dowry harassment and other serious allegations. According to police, the investigation in that matter is continuing. However, the criminal complaint and the property-related allegations are separate issues, and the agencies concerned will have to examine them on the basis of facts.
For now, attention is on the outcome of the departmental inquiry. If evidence of assets disproportionate to income or violation of service rules is found during the inquiry, further action may be taken as per rules.
