The administration has intensified action in the case involving the murder of three people in the Saadatganj area of Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) sealed the house of the main accused, Rishabh Shukla, and demolished the alleged illegal construction on the road using a bulldozer. Police have so far arrested six accused in the case. Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak reached the victim’s family and shouldered the bier during the last rites.
According to police, a dispute over parking and a raised platform took place on October 26 in the Naubasta locality of Saadatganj. During the incident, three members of the Tiwari family died in firing. The deceased have been identified as Shivaji Tiwari, Shivendra alias Shambhu Tiwari and Suyash Tiwari. After the incident, the main accused, Rishabh Shukla, was arrested from the spot. Later, his father Dinesh, uncles Satish and Girish, and sisters Priya and Aditi were also arrested.
The LDA enforcement team, in the presence of police personnel, sealed the accused’s house and demolished the alleged illegal portion built on road land. According to officials, the approved map and necessary documents related to the construction were not presented. Further action regarding the alleged encroachment on Nazul land will be taken as per rules. Police have also stated that weapons and cartridges were recovered from the accused.
Before the cremation, the victim’s family had demanded strict action against the accused and assistance. Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak assured the family of a job in the municipal corporation for one member and support for the education expenses of the deceased’s daughter, Sumedha. After this, the last rites of all three bodies were performed amid tight security.
Questions have also been raised over alleged negligence by the local police in the case. The Police Commissioner has suspended the Saadatganj station in-charge and the Kashmiri Mohalla outpost in-charge and ordered an inquiry. Legal action against the accused arrested in the murder case is continuing.
