A case has come to light in Karnataka’s capital Bengaluru in which a businessman allegedly beat his own employee to death. It is alleged that the businessman had found the employee with his 19-year-old daughter in a room at his house. Angered by this, he attacked the young man with a cricket bat and an iron pipe. The young man died due to serious injuries. Police have arrested the accused businessman.
The deceased has been identified as Kiran, a resident of Palakkad district in Kerala. Different reports have given his age as 22 and 24 years. He had been working for the past few years at accused Anandraj’s manufacturing unit. Anandraj runs a business making carts and sweet corn machines in the Yelahanka area of north Bengaluru.
According to police, Anandraj knew about the close relationship between his daughter and Kiran. On Tuesday, he had gone out of the house with his wife, but returned suddenly a few hours later. During this time, he saw the two together in a room. It is alleged that he first sent his daughter to a relative’s house and then kept Kiran at home and began beating him.
Kiran suffered serious injuries to his hands, legs and abdomen in the assault. He fell unconscious. The accused took him to a hospital in an autorickshaw, where doctors declared him dead. After receiving information from the hospital, Yelahanka police registered a case and arrested Anandraj.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police GK Mithun Kumar, the initial investigation indicates that the killing was intentional. Police are also investigating whether any other person was present there at the time of the incident.
