Votes were counted for five Assembly constituencies and one Lok Sabha seat.

In Tamil Nadu, actor-politician Vijay’s TVK was leading in the Madurantakam and Dharapuram Assembly constituencies during counting. The contests were being closely watched as an early electoral test for the party’s government and its ability to retain support against established rivals. Both constituencies had recorded substantial voter turnout during polling on October 6.

The results attracted attention amid political competition following the change in the state government. In Assam’s Nagaon Lok Sabha constituency, BJP candidate Devasish Sharma established a significant lead over AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal during counting.

Puducherry’s Thattanchavady Assembly seat went to AINRC candidate Ashok Anand, who defeated Congress rival E Vinayagam by more than 8,400 votes, according to election reports. The victory provided a boost to the ruling AINRC-led alliance.

The bypolls offered an important snapshot of political competition across the four regions. Final constituency-wise figures and results were available through the Election Commission of India’s official results portal.
