CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal / Chhattisgarh : A cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister Sai is scheduled in Raipur today, ahead of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly’s monsoon session. All ministers have been summoned. Crucial decisions may be taken concerning departments like agriculture, food, and education. Bills that will be introduced during the assembly session will also be discussed.

Recently, officials from the Excise Department were suspended due to the liquor scam, and the opposition is likely to raise the issue. An informal discussion among ministers on this matter may occur. This meeting is strategically placed just before the monsoon session, suggesting possible proposals related to the session may be approved today.

The monsoon session is scheduled from July 14 to July 18, during which five sittings are expected. The opposition is likely to target the government over issues like fertilizer availability and rising crime. Heated debates are anticipated, including from ruling party legislators.

The last cabinet meeting took place on June 30, where major decisions were made, including:

  • Expansion of the Krishak Unnati Yojana to cover pulses, oilseeds, and maize crops

  • Formation of the Chhattisgarh Pension Fund for better retirement management

  • Establishment of Growth and Stability Fund to stabilize the state economy

  • Approval of Logistics Policy 2025 to boost storage and export infrastructure

  • Green light for redevelopment of old/unused government buildings and lands

  • Approval of the Jan Vishwas Bill 2025 to decriminalize certain laws and ease business

  • Relaxation in minimum service required for promotion (from 5 years to 2 years, one-time)
