CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A historic beginning has been made towards turning Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s Vidisha parliamentary constituency into a major centre for advanced health services. Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development and local MP Shivraj Singh Chouhan, along with Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Jitendra Singh, today formally inaugurated the Cancer Day-Care Centre at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government Medical College, Vidisha. During the programme, an important MoU was signed between Vidisha Medical College and AIIMS Bhopal. With technical support from the world-renowned Tata Memorial Centre (TMC), cancer patients from Vidisha and adjoining districts will no longer have to travel repeatedly to metropolitan cities such as Delhi and Mumbai for chemotherapy, advanced tests and consultation. On the occasion, Union Minister Jitendra Singh also made major announcements, including the establishment of a full cancer hospital in Vidisha with land availability, the launch of a linear accelerator-equipped radiotherapy facility within two and a half years, and preparation of a regional cancer registry.
