CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Under the joint auspices of Bhopal Kalakunj Foundation and LN Ayurveda College, an awareness program was organized at the Government Primary School in Daulatpur on National Cancer Awareness Day.

On this occasion, Dr. Shailesh Jain, Professor and Head of the Pediatrics Department at LN Ayurveda Medical College, provided children with detailed information on the causes, symptoms, and prevention of cancer. Dr. Jain highlighted that tobacco use, unhealthy eating habits, lack of physical activity, junk food, and excessive use of plastic cups and disposables are among the main causes of cancer.

Dr. Jain advised children to stay alert for early symptoms such as lumps, irregular bleeding, and sudden weight loss. He also encouraged them to adopt healthy habits, including eating nutritious food, getting enough sleep, and exercising regularly.

The main objective of the program was to provide such important information to rural children, who often lack access to it. Through this program, children were educated on preventive measures for cancer and motivated to adopt a healthier lifestyle. Students and teachers participated in the event, and, in closing, school teachers Umesh Sharma and Reena Nath expressed gratitude to Kalakunj Foundation’s Mrs. Pooja Chouksey and Dr. Shailesh Jain for their efforts.
