CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Emphasizing that guiding students toward the right path is both the duty of teachers and a national responsibility, the Chief Minister Cashless Medical Scheme for Teachers was launched from the holy city of Varanasi. The landmark initiative will provide cashless healthcare coverage to nearly 1.2 million teachers, non-teaching staff, and their dependents, significantly strengthening social security and access to quality medical care across the state.

On the occasion, financial assistance of ₹1,200 per student was transferred directly into the bank accounts of parents of nearly 11 million students through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. The event also recognized principals and headmasters of schools selected at the national level for excellence in cleanliness and environmental sustainability, acknowledging their contribution to creating healthier learning environments.

Additionally, an important Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was exchanged between the Basic Education Department and State Bank of India to extend a comprehensive social security cover to nearly one million teachers and contractual employees. The initiatives reflect the government's commitment to strengthening the education ecosystem by ensuring the well-being of educators, supporting students' families financially, promoting clean and green schools, and enhancing long-term social protection for the state's education workforce.
