A significant milestone in women’s empowerment is ensuring their social and economic upliftment within their families and society—this was the key message shared by esteemed guests at an event organized by the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC) and PIB on the occasion of International Women’s Day at Government College, Narela.
Government Initiatives for Women’s Development
At the inauguration, Dharmendra Agrawal, Project Officer of the Women and Child Development Department, emphasized that several ambitious government schemes are being implemented for the welfare of women and girls. He highlighted that these programs have significantly contributed to the social progress of women, leading to their economic and social empowerment.
In his welcome address, Prashant Pathrabe, Additional Director General of CBC and PIB Bhopal, stated that the focus of the Central Government’s schemes for women and child development is to maximize awareness among women, ensuring the effective implementation of these initiatives. He expressed confidence that proper execution of these programs will undoubtedly lead to the socio-economic upliftment of women.
Role of Women in Their Own Empowerment
Dr. Archana Gaur, Principal of Government College, Narela, emphasized that women must actively participate in their progress and well-being. She stated that only through their involvement can government efforts be strengthened, allowing women to fully benefit from these schemes.
A large number of women members associated with the Dattopant Thengadi National Board for Workers’ Education and Development, along with college students, attended the program. Coordinator of the Workers’ Education Board, Har Gyan Singh, also addressed the gathering, explaining how women are being trained at the block level and grassroots level to enhance their skills in the unorganized sector.
Encouraging Social Change and Empowerment
During a special session, Neha Rajput, a supervisor from the Women and Child Development Department, encouraged women to take proactive steps towards changing their social status through strategic efforts.
A quiz competition on women’s empowerment was held, and winners were felicitated. Additionally, students, quiz winners, and faculty members were honored for their notable achievements.
