CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Delhi: New Delhi, 21 October: The Coal Controller Organisation’s SUVIKALP tool helps assess new uses for closed coal mines, weighing environmental, social, technical and economic factors, the Coal Ministry said on Wednesday.

Its linked PRISM model provides project plans, case studies and implementation guidance. The initiative received a SKOCH Gold Award on 26 September; the ministry reported the recognition today.

CCO has also held 12 webinars on mine closure, livelihoods and community participation, aimed at turning former mining sites into productive assets.
