CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal : On September 4, 2025, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan visited the revered Gorakhnath Temple in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, to offer prayers. He was accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who welcomed him warmly. The visit coincided with the annual ‘Vyakhyanmala’ event, commemorating the death anniversaries of Mahant Digvijaynath Maharaj and Mahant Avedyanath Maharaj.

During the visit, General Chauhan paid his respects to Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath and participated in a ceremonial worship. The temple’s chief priest, Yogi Kamalnath, presented him with a commemorative statue of Guru Gorakhnath and a ceremonial shawl as tokens of respect. This gesture underscored the deep-rooted spiritual and cultural ties between the Indian Armed Forces and the region.
