With the objective of accelerating overall development in the district, Collector Priyank Mishra emphasized the effective utilization of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds. In this regard, he held a meeting with representatives of various industrial units and discussed a detailed roadmap for development works.

Collector Mishra stated that special focus would be given to the conservation of Bhopal’s lakes, historical heritage, and natural beauty through CSR funds. He suggested that industrial units should prioritize activities in their annual CSR plans such as plantation along lake shores using the Miyawaki technique, restoration of historical sites, redevelopment of parks, and conservation of ancient stepwells and wells.

He also stressed increasing contributions in the social sector, suggesting that projects like old age homes, special schools for differently-abled children, construction of model schools in rural areas, and development of sports infrastructure should be included under CSR initiatives. Additionally, innovative ideas like developing sports turf under metro lines and flyovers were encouraged.

The Collector clarified that all CSR-funded works would be regularly monitored at the administrative level to ensure quality and transparency.

During the meeting, discussions were also held in coordination with officials of MPIDC regarding industrial housing projects, slum rehabilitation, public transport, and future urban planning. The Collector noted that these initiatives would not only improve basic infrastructure but also help industrial units access skilled human resources.

MPIDC Executive Director Vishal Singh Chauhan informed that representatives from textile, garment, and other industrial sectors participated in the meeting. He added that CSR funds would be utilized according to local needs, with key focus areas including education, healthcare, clean drinking water, and environmental conservation.

The meeting was attended by District Panchayat CEO Ila Tiwari, along with officials from concerned departments and representatives of industrial units.
