CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: District-level training was organised in Bhopal district for charge officers and their subordinate staff in connection with preparations for the second phase of Census-2027, the population enumeration. Two-day training sessions were held, in which the concerned district-level officers, charge officers and their subordinate employees participated. The main objective of the training was to train officers and employees on the necessary preparations and procedures to be carried out after the first phase of the Census, involving house listing and house enumeration, and before the start of the second phase. During the training, detailed information was provided on various important points for the smooth conduct of the upcoming population enumeration.
The training explained the process for reviewing the designated enumeration blocks, dividing large enumeration blocks into sub-blocks as required, ensuring balanced distribution of work on the basis of population and likely workload, and making an advance assessment of the number of enumerators, supervisors and other required personnel. The importance of field verification before the proposed division of enumeration blocks was also highlighted. Officers and employees were given guidance on the appropriate determination of enumeration blocks on the basis of the actual situation in the area, population, roads, lanes and other geographical boundaries. Information was also provided on the technical process for dividing enumeration blocks, updating the related details and preparing the necessary records as per the prescribed procedure.
The training was conducted by trainers from the Census office. Through the training, officers and employees were given the necessary guidelines to carry out preparations for the upcoming population enumeration in a time-bound, systematic and effective manner. Proper determination of enumeration blocks, balanced distribution of workload, field verification and timely assessment of required human resources are important for the smooth completion of the second phase of Census-2027. The objective of the training is to ensure all these tasks are carried out with better coordination and in accordance with the prescribed procedure.
